It is with heavy hearts that we at Rare Compute mourn the loss of our dear friend, colleague, and founding member, Michael Brooks. A brilliant mind and compassionate soul, Michael dedicated his life to harnessing technology to unravel the mysteries of rare genetic diseases. As a world-renowned cybersecurity expert, he designed our project's first computer, laying the foundation for our critical work and ensuring compute resources are accessible to rare disease researchers.

Michael's empathy for patients, advocacy for the rare disease community, and infectious passion have left an indelible mark on all of us at Rare Compute. As we carry forward his vision, we are determined to honor his memory by accelerating progress toward life-changing treatments and cures.

Rest in peace, Michael. Your legacy lives on through Rare Compute and the countless lives you have changed for the better.
